California Leavin’

Don’t get me wrong. I love Santa Clarita, I love California. I love the climate, the Vasquez Rocks…

But more people are leaving CA than ever before. Maybe it’s the worsening wildfires, maybe it’s the cost of living, maybe it’s the Newsom Culture… I’m just saying. I guess living here is peaceful but you feel that something could give way at any time. Water shortage, quake, crime… It’s as though you are on a precipice and just around the corner could be an apocalypse (all you have to do is look at those wildfire skies). Plus having LA on your doorstep isn’t quite what it used to be…

I’m staying put… for the time being. My hubby works locally. But I would be lying if I said moving hadn’t crossed my mind.

I’m not alone. In 2018 more than 86,000 people left CA for Texas, nearly 70,000 left for Arizona and 55,000 for Washington. Between 2007 and 2016, 5 million residents moved to CA and 6million residents moved out to other states.
